What do these two things have in common? They both sold this weekend, and tomorrow morning they'll be on their way to their new home. "Evening Song" is sold out for now, but you can find your own "Merry & Bright" plaque at my Etsy shop, Encore Old Pianos. It's made entirely from piano pieces: from the copper string, to the upright piano hammers, and even to the wood it's mounted on.

Today we disassembled my 25th, and final, piano. Lord willing, I'll still be doing piano art for some time to come, but I'm not accepting any more pianos. Many thanks to my sister Anita for this one, and to all who before her also entrusted your broken instruments to me.

Duke sure makes my new workshop look fabulous.

Found this book at Cracker Barrel and fell in love with the story and the illustrations. Now these lovely pages are begging me to color them...

This is what I do at the end of a disassembly session. It's where a lot of my ideas come from. And it's so relaxing.

With many thanks to Matthew (aka @just.a.doormatt ), the storage unit is officially empty, and the workshop is officially FULL. Here are three of the five pianos we moved today: an 1866 Steinway, a 1942 Kimball, and a 1946 Knabe. Would you like one of these as a desk?

It's been a long time since I've made anything new (besides a new workshop), but this week I've made two new things, with a third nearing completion... and it's only Tuesday!

The ramp is here at last, and pretty soon the pianos will come home. This project has taken sooo long. I'll be glad when the construction, setup, and organizing are complete and I can spend an entire day creating.

Tonight was Girls' Night at our house. We had crustless pizza delivered from @marcospizza (delivery is a special treat), then put together our first @clearly.impossible.puzzle in just under 2 hours. Mary's favorite piece was the one with two straight edges. There were also "extra" corners and edges to make the puzzle more fun to put together.
